Validation on Date

in CRM On Demand - Administration (MOSC) Question
Hi Experts,

This is my scenario that - When a user has change the date  "Expected Closing Date" ,here the date should be greater then todays date other wise record shouldn't be saved and this message should be dispalyed on the page.

WHich is the best wat either Workflow/Validation? What are the steps to implement to this.
