Subledger accounting - historical data

 Can you please explain the amount of historical data that is stored in Subledger when doing the upgrade from 11i to R12 - reading that 6 months of data is stored in subledger.

What about the historical data - Is it still in the auto accounting set up - Is all the other historical data migrated and can it be queried ?

Please explain.
