Display Exceptions in Planner's Workbench

My Client wants to filter exceptions displayed in Planner Workbench (PWB) based on Planner Codes associated to employee accessing the PWB.  Currently all exceptions across all Planner Codes are displayed.  Can some one provide me some guidance on how to modify the displayed data based on the above criteria?  Thanks.
