Weblogic Admin server (10.0.1) hangs - java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space

I have a Weblogic 10.0.1 environment on Linux 64 bit.

Running 1 Admin server process and 4 managed Node processes on 1 server. (Another 4 Managed nodes in the same cluster on a second machine).

Approximately every 7 days the WL Admin server process stops working. I can't query it from command line or via a browser address.

Each time we see

 java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space.

quoted in the admin process log file either at the point of failure of in the hour preceeding the time when the logging stopped occurring.

Service is killed (its still there just can't be communicated with) and restarted...and off we go again for another 7 days
