Installing Oracle10.2.0.2 on Redhat 5.6
while installing oracle 10g on Redhat 5.6, it gave error saying operating system version : must be redhat-3, suse-9,redhat-4 etc. we can find many articles in the internet wherein they say its possible to install oracle 10g on redhat 5.6, provided we change some settings ( like "/etc/redhat-release ) in linux to ignore the error. So is it advisable to do such editings and install the sofware ? Will it create any problem in the future, as we are trying to create a logical standby on Redhat 5.6 where as the Primary DB is in Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS
