I noticed the trace file for lgwr and ckpt process today for the 11.2.0.2 version database. I am not sure what it means or if I need to act on anything.

In the lgwr trace file:

*** 2012-05-05 02:22:23.519
Warning: log write elapsed time 909ms, size 277KB

*** 2012-05-05 02:22:25.651
Warning: log write elapsed time 2087ms, size 554KB

*** 2012-05-05 02:22:26.678
Warning: log write elapsed time 1026ms, size 277KB

In the ckpt trace file:

Control file enqueue hold time tracking dump at time: 3884506

*** 2012-05-05 02:23:24.079
  1: 8588ms (rw) file: kcrf.c line: 2442 count: 4 total: 25120ms time: 2443015
  2: 4675ms (rw) file: ktu.c line: 25595 count: 4 total: 9599ms time: 3538645

Howdy, Stranger!
