How to move the 10g database in one server to 11g version in virtualized server?

The current database I have is 10.2.0.3 that sits on solaris 10 box. One of the developer needs the newest 11g database environment. There is a possibility that we will create a virtualized environment for him. The question is what is the step to move the 10g database to the virtualized server that will have the 11g software installed? This database is not that big around 3G.

I can't upgrade the current 10g database and then move over the database because there are other database instance sit on the server that are not ready to upgrade yet.

Should I just create a new database on the 11g virtualized server and then export import all the objects over? Where can I find the step by step documentation on this? Please advice. Thank you very much.
