Custom Fixed Asset Number Generation

Dear all,

              We have a requirement to customize the fixed asset number generation with a predefined  alphanumeric number eg.B00001, C00002 based on the type of the asset.Since the assets can be created using ADI, Quick Mass Additions, Mass Additions-AP to FA and Post Mass Additions, the asset number is generated at different times and using different methods.

 

But at the end, the asset number generation will depend on the sequence. So what would be the best way to acheive this requirement.

Customizing the sequence ,would it be a right one and if so can anyone share their insights.
