Explain the flow of log file:

Please anybody can help the flow of this log file.i am more struggling to analyze a log file if the problem comes with configuration,exsript,workflow ?and how do i find the error or problem in the log file ?where i can focus on to find an problem ?and please can you explain the flow of the log file and its contained events ?and i read bookshelf but i unable to understand the flow of log file .that why i am posting this.
