Assets Acquired and needs to be added as Short Fiscal Year

 Hi,
I have the following questions related to this, we are using R 12.1.3

What is the procedure to add the Assets under short fiscal year. Currently we are in May-12 Period but the assets are acquired in Feb-12. How to utilize the short fiscal year asset additions such that the system will show the right depreciation amounts each month and will these assets be still under short fiscal year flag when we move to next financial year?

Please advise,
