M4000 Hot Plug-in PCI-E HBA FC Card

The manual says the M4000 supports Hot-Plug for PCI-E cards, but I am wondering if anyone has actually tried this with success.  I want to install a PCI-e card but I am concerned of causing the system to become unstable. Any feedback would be appreciated.
