New db created in 11.2.0.3 RAC has a different Resource Type

Hi,

I upgraded a 11.1 Clusterware to 11.2.0.3 GI with some pre existing 10.2.0.4 RDBMS instances. ( RDBMS instances stays in 10.2.0.4 only)

I installed 11.2.0.3 rdbms on top of the new 11.2 GI and created a RAC db. All clusterware resources are looking good after  the upgrade, but I find the new 11.2.0.3 database to have a different resource type than the other previous databases running in the cluster.

Old databases have the resource type as "application" and the new 11.2.0.3 database has resource type as "ora.database.type".

Can anyone clarify, if

a) This is a expected behaviour

b) Can I move the resource type back to "application"
