RTF Layout and need output in .xls format

Hi Friends

I am designing the layout in MS office  version 2007 and when i am trying to open the report in .xls format it is coming in .Excel format can any one suggest me what i shud do ? Below are versions we are using

BIP Version-10.1.3.4.1

Siebel -8.1.1.4

ms office -2007

BI Publisher 10g does not create Excel binary output (.xls) from RTF layouts.It generates XHTML (Excel2000) and MHTML (Excel) formats that are interpreted by your browser as Excel. Our Version is 10.1.3.4.1.We can use Excel layouts to generate Excel output (the feature is documented in our New Features Guide for BI Publisher 10.1.3.4.2).Present we are using MS word layouts to generate excel.So to reach client requirement we need new version of BIP as mentioned above
