Creating Test Grid Environment

Hi Guys,

I intend uprading our current Grid11g (11.1.0.1.0) on SUSE Sles10 to Grid12c (12.1.0.1) SUSE Sles11.

My questions are as follows:

1.I need to create an exact copy (clone)of our production environment (11.1.0.1.0) to test the upgrade of the Operating System firstly from sles 10 to sles 11 (as sles10 is not supported) So that all functionality of the grid remains intact.

2.An upgrade from Grid11g to Grid12c to ensure that reports, rman configuration etc is carried over.

Can grid 11g be cloned to a different environment for testing purposes?

If so, what is the process?

Reason : As with every other implementation, the entire process of upgrading should be tested first in a contol environment to iron out issues and prevent any surprises during the production upgrade.
