Datafiles goes offline automatically

 Hi,

Datafiles are going offline automatically and we had to recover and make them online.
Datafiles are on normal file system(not ASM) also environment is single instance(non RAC).
As per my understanding, datafiles goes offline automatically if db is having any problem in reading/writing them. But there are no problem/errors observed from OS/Network/Filer side.
Can someone suggest how this issue can be investigated further.

Error stack:

ORA-01171: datafile 23 going offline due to error advancing checkpoint
ORA-01122: database file 23 failed verification check
ORA-01110: data file 23: 'biuser14.dbf'
ORA-01208: data file is an old version - not accessing current version

Howdy, Stranger!
