IE compatibility in EPM 11.1.2.1(2) workspace

 I have IE 8.0.7601.17514 and I see issues with the dropdown boxes in the workspace.  Instead of cascading menus I get all the content scrolling (or attempting to scroll) in the first dropdown.  I thought IE was supported.  Is there a setting in the browser I need to set?  IE 6 work perfectly.
