Primary and standby database in different recovery catalogs

 Hi all,
We have two Exadata environments in seperate geographical locations.  One is used as primary with the other as Data Guarded standby.  We have a recovery catalog on our primary database but it takes a ludicrously long time for our standby databases to resync with this catalog.

To this end we are considering putting a second catalog on our standby Exadata and connecting the standby databases to this.  I know I will first need to register the primary databases in this secondary catalog but does anyone know the ramifications (if any) of using separate catalogs for primary and standby databases when it comes to recovery.  We will be backing up both primary and standby databases as this gets us around the requirement to store backups off-site but need to know we'll be able to use either in a recovery situation.

Howdy, Stranger!
