Custom Object 1 question

The business need calls for a custom object X that is subordinate to Opportunity.  One Opportunity to Many X.  Additionally, each X needs a Many to Many relationship with Account.  Because I used CO1 for X, the Opportunity related list header bar contains both New and Add buttons. Relating one X to more than one Opportunity makes no sense and I need to prevent it from happening.

 Is there a way to make the header bar contain only New?
