Process_Item_Cat_Assignment API returns "INV_ITEM_CAT_ASSIGN_NO_MULT" value error in x_msg_data ou

Hello all.
 I am trying to use Process_Item_Cat_Assignment API to assign item to indicated category.
 Unfortunately after running API I got error return status and   "INV_ITEM_CAT_ASSIGN_NO_MULT"  value assigned to  "x_msg_data" out parameter.
 Could anyone suggest How this problem can be resolved?
