upgrade ASM Oracle 10.2.0.4.0 to ASM Oracle 11G R2

Need advice if it is possible to upgrade ASM oracle 10G (10.2.0.4) to Oracle 11G R2 on Windows 2008 SP2 X64 servers. The current scenario is:

-  Two oracle homes, one used by ASM running Oracle 10G and another running two Oracle Database instances. 

- The plan is to only upgrade the ASM instance from Oracle 10G to Oracle 11G ( to take advantage of new features of Oracle 11G) and not to upgrade the other database home.

- The vendor databases are not complaint with Oracle 11G.

Question: 

Is it feasable to upgrade only the ASM home to Oracle 11G?  Will it cause problems to have ASM running on Oracle 11G and running the Oracle Database instances on Oracle 10G?
