Period closure in single ledger

Hi,

We are using R12 with single ledger defined for multiple legal entities. We have defined operating unit for each legal entity. This is working fine and meeting our business requirement. However we are facing issue in period closure,when we are closing period for one operating unit systme is closing period for all operating unit.

Please let us know, if we can configure system with following functionalities with in single ledger:

 Ability to configure different transaction closure dates for various entities. 

 Assigning user specific right for re-opening of the closed period and user specific rights to enter transactions in specific period.
