11.5.10.2 to 12.1.3 - reduce functional intervention during patching possible

Hi,

is it possible to use the following flow to reduce the time the functional guys need to intervene

1. do 11.5.10.2 /12.1.1 pre-upgrade patches / functional steps
2.apply 12.1.1 upgrade patch
3.apply 12.1.3 upgrade patch
4. apply 12.1.3 latest patches
5. execute 12.1.x post upgrade functional steps

or is there no other option then to 11.5.10.2 - 12.1.1 patch, then 12.1.1 post functional upgrade steps
then apply 12.1.3 patch + latest patches , do 12.1.3 functional steps
