Oracle 11gR2 Standby Database on Windows 2008R2 Pron's and Con's

Hi I am working on set up the Oracle 11gR2 physical standby database on windows 2008R2. it's pretty bumpy. Have not complete it yet. But I felt it will have a lots of issues.
The set up seemed not straight forward, have to workaround and back and force to move to next step. Would you please give me your thought about your experiences. 
First of all 11.2.0.2 on windows got lots of unfixed bugs. The Oracle document I followed is not good enough to get it done in one shot. Have to work around a lots of issues
especially environmental. Even I will get it set up and still worry about performance and db management. Hope some one can share your experience about it. Thanks.
