Questions regarding Solaris 10 and Dell R910

Greetings,

 I have recently been "given" a pair of Dell R910 servers.  I immediately install Solaris 10 x86 update 10.  I have experienced several system "hangs" or lockups.  Either during install, using lofiadm, or trying to login in, my systems appears to hang.  I have 124GB of ram, a pair of emulex HBA's and 6 sas drives.  Can anyone help me figure out if this is a hardware or hardware issue.  Maybe this is standard operating procedure for such a beefy machine - i am not sure, just seeking advice.

Am I impatient or is Solaris not designed for such hardware (and I know its been tested for Solaris 10 by Oracle HCL staff)
