Oracle session showing as killed

Dear All,
Please help on my situation.

1. There is a session A which is locking the other seesion B , for that i have killed the session A but the session A showing status as killed but the os process id is still alive.

2. Can i kill the os process id related to session a? will it effect any thing to my database , database version is 9.2.0.8 and its oracle application database.(ERP)

 Please help me to clear the session A as its locking so many programs to run.
