How to print character report to PDF file

We migrated from Forms 6.0 to 11g, since we have a lot of charcter report  we want to generate PDF file leaving the report in character mode.

Is it possible run the report with destype = printer and desname = <pdf creator driver> ? How to pass the file name to the pdf creator driver?

Is there any other way to have PDF file from charcter reports?
