Oracle Database Smart Flash Cache on OEL 6.2

Question: how do I update an existing Oracle Home to allow the Flash Cache to work? The OUI patches cannot be applied to the Oracle Home.

My server is HP DL380 running 64-bit OEL 6.2.  My database software is 64-bit Enterprise Edition 11.2.0.3.0.  I have an existing Oracle Home created in April 2012.  Any attempt to use the Oracle Database Smart Flash Cache results in error "feature not enabled".  That is expected and well documented, so I have no issues with Flash Cache not working in this case.

If I create a new Oracle Home, the OUI prompts me to download two patches.  These two patches are for the OUI.  It closes the OUI and restarts it.   After that I can install Oracle and create databases with Flash Cache enabled and working fine.   It seems to me these two OUI patches update the OUI to add OEL 6.1 and 6.2 to the list of supported operating systems, and allow the Flash Cache driver to be installed or enabled.

Howdy, Stranger!
