Are queries really running in active data guard standby database?

Hi All!
I've set up active data guard for high availability and as a solution for running read-only queries in the standby database to take load of production. How can I verify that these read-only queries are truly being shipped to the standby database and not getting run in production? We've configure PeopleTools to manage what gets shipped to the standby database.
