wrong serial number received

Friends,

While creating a PO Receipt, user entered the wrong serial number and the receipt is completed. After he realized that he recieved the wrong serail number and he is looking for a data fix.

I would like to update mtl_unit_trsansations and mtl_serial_numbers tables with correct serail number. Any impact if i do this data fix?
