How to have order scheduling respect expiration date

Can anyone advise how we can force order scheduling to respect expiration dates?  For example if I have 10 units on hand that expire tomorrow and 15 units that are expected to arrive next week, If I get an order for product, I should not be allowed to schedule based on the product avialable tomorrow.
