DBA Calculation - multiply one DBA by another?
Company has Davis Bacon jobs. Jobs are established with a prevailing wage by classification. There is also a contractor’s fringe benefit (non-cash, non-taxable) that is set by classification.
Employees working on the job are guaranteed the prevailing wage plus the fringe.
Example: Class: Operator Wage $20.00/Hour Fringe $10.00/Hour
Class: Laborer Wage $17.75/Hour Fringe $8.25/hour
BUT – if an employee already makes more than the prevailing wage, he/she would be paid their normal hourly rate - which is handled by setting the Time Entry MBF to pay the higher rate. As a result of being paid a higher rate, the fringe rate would be decreased by the excess over the prevailing wage. So if an Operator normally makes $22.50/hr, they would get paid that, but their fringe would be reduced to $7.50.
