Field masking not working after Upgrade

Hi,

We have upgraded from Siebel 7.8.2.14 SIA to 8.1.1.7 SIA. Right now we are in Post Merge UI tasks. 

We have noticed that a field in Contact BC, which was masked using field level user properties on a Calculated field; the masking is not being done after the Upgrade. The calculated field displays as blank on the UI.

I am providing details for the same -
Field to be masked - HIC
Calculated field - HIC_Masked
Calculated field value = HIC 
Field level user properties on HIC_Masked - 
Display Mask Char - *
Encrypt Source Field - HIC

We would like to mention that we thought that it might be because of the BC class (Contact BC has specialized class) but we verified similar case on another BC with class - CSSBCBase and the problem persists.
