Loading XML or RTF files: Error: bash: apps: No such file or directory

The commands given in My Oracle support Note.880149.1  don't execute in OEL 5.6 after sourcing the environment. Notably the commands to reload the XML and RTF.

When entering those commands in a new terminal after sourcing the environment, i receive the following error:
