Merging and branching of development environments

Hi All,

Just wondering how people are handling merging and branching of their Siebel development environments?

We are getting more demand to do so, but are finding merging back the development streams is mostly a manual task and can be quite time consuming, depending on the development carried out.

Does anyone use any tools that help with this? i.e.

SCM tools (subject of another post)

DB merging tools?

Other tools to help merging release items?

Difference tools for environment/data?

automated unit testing or regression testing?

Also - what sort of processes do you enforce to make sure your merges and splits are successful?
