View GL Report Manager reports in Excel 2010

What patch(es) do we need to apply so that we can view GL Report Manager reports in Excel 2010?

We are running version 12.1.1 of E-Business Suite and just upgraded from Microsoft Office 2007 to Office 2010. When we attempt to view reports from General Ledger -> Report Manager -> Repository Management using Excel the browser window (IE9) clears and appears to hang. Excel 2010 opens but hangs without displaying the report.

From searching the Oracle Support site it appears that the steps to resolve this issue is to apply the R12.ATG_PF.B.delta.3 patchset followed by patch 12888465:R12.FRM.B, which would be significant effort. Does anyone know a better path to get this to work?
