PAY: Effective Start Date of the Employee in middle of Payroll

Hi all

I have an employee that was hired in the middle of the payroll.  this employe is currently not getting paid in the regular payroll run.  Is there a certain process that would have to be followed for the employees hired in middle of the payroll to get paid?  The employee has earnings on this payroll run but none of the earnings are being picked up in the run.  any assistance would be great.
