Database nodes running out of time sync within Windows Domain

edited Jun 28, 2012 3:27AM in Database Administration (MOSC) 4 comments
Problem Description:

Oracle Grid Infrastructure is installed on two cluster nodes both Windows server 2008 R2.
I am using W32Time synchronisation within the existing Windows domain (ctss is in observer mode).
I followed the Oracle recommendation to set backwards resync to off. However in my environment the cluster nodes internal clocks are running slightly faster than the domain PDC (the time reference).
So resync in positive direction is okay but when the time is absolutely in sync and due to faster local clock the local time becomes a little advanced then time resync can not work because it does not allow to resync backwards. Therfoer in my environment all nodes are not in sync after a short time.

Howdy, Stranger!
