Standby Database

Oracle Release 11.2.0.1.0 Standby database at the disaster recovery site stopped unexpectedly.  No entries in alert log indicating why database crashed.

Mounted the database as stndby and issued the command "recover automatic standby database;"

The recovery last for few minutes and threw the error "ora-10878 parallel recovery slave died unexpectedly"

Our SUN Solaris (SPARK) OS 5.10 Sys Admin checked the system and everything checked out.

What could be causing this error?
