Create Accounting

Can you let me know while running Create Accounting, does it lock the specific recrods stored in the table, or entire table.  We are experiencing frequent locks, forcing us to terminate the program and run it during night time. 

Any info or guidance from the members will be greatly appreciated.  If Companies are having single global instance where transactions are taking place continuously in the system, how create accounting program is run to avoid these locking issues.
