Compression method (type of compression used) used by DataPump for METADATA

Hi all,
is there anyone who can tell me what type of compression algorithm (gzip, lzw, ...) is used for compressing the METADATA in Oracle datapump dumpfiles (the default for the COMPRESSION parameter is METADATA_ONLY)?
