Asset Tracking with Project

We are in EBS R12.1.3 and planning to implement Oracle Asset Tracking with Project Costing and Fixed Assets. I am looking for some guidance on managing the following situation.

There is a capital project defined in Project costing for which there are serveral purchases made over a period of time. The users would like to track the finished asset after the costruction of the project is finished and the asset is ready to be capitalized. There is no need to track the individual items purchased that goes into the costruction of the asset.

This is really the process used for capitalizing the CIP assets from Projects but I am not sure how it will work when Asset Tracking is being used.
