The subject is advanced pricing but the question is related to quoting.

I am examining the possibility of adding a formula to an item in a price book for quoting that calclulates the list price based on weight per piece * price per pound. The user needs to be able to input the dimensions that will be used to determine the weight per piece. I created a test formula with a single pricing attribute with an attribute mapping method of USER ENTERED. I attached this formula to an item in a price list I created and everything works at this point. I can create a new quote line and pick the product from the price
