How to use AHL_MC_Node_PVT.Create_Node to create an assembly under a position node or is there a di

I can't find documentation on how to create an assembly rather than just another node for a position - I don't have any documentation on the APIs although I have hunted for the documentation. At least documentation for developers that is. Does anyone know how to do this or perhaps I am looking at the incorrect API.
