after transaction Item can be deleted or not ??

hi friends, i am done a mistake i have creat a kind of item with wrong UOM and even transact it once though i mangaed the current transaction .. but for future action i need to do somthing now i am worried about how can i delete the item ..... as for as my knowledge is concerned we are not suppose to delete any item which is once transact now the question is that how do i solve the current issue ???
