ODA SNMP-monitoring

We are monitoring ODA with the use of Nimsoft/snmp. Basically, we just want to monitor defect hardware such as powersupply, network interfaces, fans and so on. We do not need monitoring power use, fan speed and these kind of thing. It is quite hard to understand all of the OID's which are available in the MIB's supplied form the the ODA.

Is there anybody who have further information about "best practices" or somewhat other information how to approach this subject?
