Cannot delete master record when matching detail records exist error

In my R12.0.6 envirnoment, I'm trying to remove a task from a task template.  When I click on the Delete icon in the menu bar of the Setup Task Template Groups, I get the error message "Cannot delete master record when matching detail records exist".

What does this error mean.  It is one of 7 tasks listed in the Related Task Templates region.  I no longer need for this task to be in the template. 

I guess I should also mention that there are no dependencies, no resource or no recurrence attached to this task in the Template.
