Annual depreciation calendar

In Assets R12.1.3, is it possible to set up an annual depreciation calendar?  Our GL calendar is monthly, but as I understand, in R12, the periods do not need to match.  Our business requirement is to only run depreciation at the end of the fiscal year.  We are very small and do not have a huge volume of asset additions or deletions, so running depreciation every month and generating 12 months of journal entries is not desired.
