item Search - Material Workbench

In R11 when we performed an item search, entered the item number, checked the box "show quantity", pressed find and then went to tools and selected "on hand inquiry", we were taken to "subinventory on-hand quantities" for the org.  Now it takes us to the material workbench and we have to click, click, click on the left hand side to get the information.  We like the "fewer" click version - is this a bug or just "new functionality?"
