we are experiencing intermittent hangs when attempting to run hrrunsec.sql in the hrglobal after app

We have experienced an intermittent problem when running hrglobal after  applying Australian HR patches.  The hrrunsec.sql for APPOBJ just hangs:- there are no locks or blocking sessions and the worker itself appears not to be running any sql.  All the other workers finish successfully, but this one doesn't.  I tried killing the worker ( via adctrl ) and switching it to a different worker but no luck.  Eventually, I have killed the UNIX processes and restarted and usually it goes through with no problems, but once I had to restart the adpatch twice before it completed.  Is there any way
