when to update the grade rate in HR

Hi,

we are working in oracle applications 11i.

We are implementing the basis in Human Resources Work Structures.We have a new hr work structure that involves : Organization, jobs, positions and graded and grades rates.

Considereing the grades they were 7 and now they are 15 and the grade rate was for example:

• grade 1              min  1000     max  2000

and became

• grade 1             min 500       max      700

There are employees of course who are assigned to Grade 1. I have added the additional 8 grades in production but I am not sure how changing the grade rate would affect the existing data:

We have a standard effective date for setup as 01-JAN- 2000 which is used for setup and definitions. I used it to add the 8 additional grades.
